All That Is Uphill Bows to What Is Below It

All That Is Uphill Bows to What Is Below It

In particular

this road and its ferocious curve
bows to the ravine

The guardrail
following the turn

has pried itself away from the road
in the middle of the curve

The metal remembers the car
that collided with it

This morning, in that same spot
another broken car
held in the rail’s broken arm

  1. this reminds me of a 1960''s song by Jan and Dean, 'Dead Man's Curve'. about a treacherous stretch of road in the Bel Air area of Sunset Strip in L.A. Your dad might remember this song, Hannah

  2. Giving a mind to a guardrail is one of the most original things I've read. I like the intensifying focus, like "the rail remembers the car because it hasn't been repaired." But then the revelation, that, a more sudden reminder took place.

  3. hey nice post mehn. I love your style of blogging here. The way you writes reminds me of an equally interesting post that I read some time ago on Daniel Uyi's blog titled How I Was Able To Control The Feeling Of Restlessness .
    keep up the good work.

    Regards
