Iced Water

Iced Water

Water cradles ice,
expertly carries this other phase
of itself.

All the while,
water softens the cubes’ surfaces,
rewinding

ice, coaxing it
to release, to be integrated within
the liquid.

So elegantly water
has been designed, infused with
so much give.

  3. This is beautiful. And it made me wonder about its other phase, steam (or gas) and how it relates to water. A future poem?

  5. Never thought of water as giving before. Food for thought, this.

  6. I love lines like these:
    "rewinding ice, coaxing it
    to release..."

This poem is attractive to look at, and stimulating to read!

I interpret: "infused with so much give" to mean, the water yields as it cradles the ice.
