There’s More Where That Came From

There’s More Where That Came From

The flower won’t flower any slower,
but the mountain is going nowhere

at least not while we sit next to each other
on the picnic bench for a quick lunch.

You could tell me about how much
you’ve changed, how the wind feels

now, how more and more people
bring their bodies to you. Or you

could say how one part of you has
always lived in winter, the other part

in grass. Instead, you say here, take
this pebble, have a whole handful.

  2. Your daily postings have gotten me back in the habit of writing every day. I'm currently challenging myself to start and finish a piece in 30 minutes for 30 days. Thanks for the inspiration!
