Parade

 Parade

In the way that rain is a temporary reality
each reality is temporary

but it requires work to believe this

All morning the town gets ready for the parade
The streets rinse themselves empty
and then the people start to return

From up here they are worry dolls out of their pouch
little colorful clothes proof of their selfhood

And then a rush of people joining them
An aisle down the middle like a bloodstream
like a river

and all along the bank everyone waving
