I'm not sure I get this one entirely, but I sure like the idea of the trees bellowing at us--particularly those words. We deserve it.
My stumbling block might be my failure to imagine trees bellowing, even figuratively. To me, they are a better image of stately silence than just about anything, esp. mountains or oceans. And they bend and creak just enough in wind (usually) to suggest agreeableness, unlike mountain or sea, which are all about dominance.
