Spiders make a web because they must.
They do not hang there ominously
In hopes of frightening you.
Nor do they want to socialize with you.
They pull the thread from themselves
Without unraveling, and choose
Branches or railings or wires as a frame.
Do not fear this weaving, their textile
Equal parts hole and seam.
