I said everything and all of creation
flinched
As a flame shudders
so did the carbon-based life forms shudder
momentarily

and the field twitches

and a comet’s hair is brushed back from its face

and a boulder feels wistful
A word is a path
that leads to a path
"a comet's hair", a "wistful" boulder, a field that "twitches": wonderful images here. I love the concluding couplet.
