Thursday, September 10, 2009: Notcot #24766

Yesterday I saw a metal tag embedded
In the throat of a tree.
156, its elegant script pronounced.
The bark had grown around the medallion
Drawing it back into the tree like
Stacked chips swept from a poker table.

  1. I read your poem and then I imagine what I am going to see when I click on the photo, I am almost always wrong. I love how your poetry can go with your image or mine or whoever else reads your evocative poetry.

  2. I'm 100 percent with La Belette. It's very cool.

Also, I am always transfixed by a tree's ability to do what this poem is describing.
