Forest Service

Forest Service

Trees we rob you of your quiet
and then we ask for more of it
I wish I could keep you from danger
I wish you could keep us from danger
Is the dismantling that is essential
to organic matter dangerous
or does it happen only because of
some safety some stilling hand
allowing time to get to us Stranger
what did your parents call you when
they were angry with you We swear
not to call you that unless you’re in
trouble which means not that we are
mad but worried about how love makes
a thing more fragile

"Geometry Daily," by Tilman Zitzmann

Ahhh....there's something soothing and refreshing about these fun shapes from Tilman Zitzmann. In his project Geometry Daily, he created geometric art every day in 2012. Since then, he's still been updating, but in "seasons" (groups of work, with time in between).

Peruse Geometry Daily here.

She felt cold; she decided to show it

by Isabel Seliger

She felt cold; she decided to show it

So what she did was shiver
and talk to the night around her
and gradually this became a conversation

Wind in branches is a language she discovered
Well she wasn’t the first to discover this
but it was the first time she herself learned

And her body and the land wondered
how they had lived without one another
for so many years

That night the night air dreamed
and from the small cave of her room
her dreams were branches
