Maybe I just don't know lavender and magenta the way I should, but that smoke sure seems ominous and mysterious. This reminds me of WCW's "So much depends upon"--the physical details, including color, are compelling and unforgettable, even though I'm not sure what to do with them. I think it's a good mystery, not a flawed open-endedness.
