On the Cardinals in the Trees

On the Cardinals in the Trees

Well we know they are there because
we have seen their red wings
in the trees

When the branches move
the tree will reveal itself to us
red bird for a heart

that the tree can live without

  1. Always enjoy your posts, but some are so perfect I have to add a thank you. Outside my kitchen window, a pair of cardinals live in the hedge. I'll be thinking of this poem every time I see them--

  2. I love that you took this kind of inspiration from Baker's study.
